I am writing this in defeat. My original idea for this post was to provide my thoughts on a 3-day juice cleanse that was provided to me by T-Loft. I was excited to tell you about how great I felt after finishing it, and how it totally gave me the reboot I was looking for. But, that isn’t going to happen. Confused? Let me start from the beginning.
What is T. Loft you ask?
T. Loft is a health café that offers fresh, and all natural food and beverages. Their menu is 100% gluten free and they focus on providing clean eats. Their menu consists of fresh juices, smoothies, protein balls, meal bowls, salads, scramble bowls, tea and now coffee. My go-to is usually the spicy chicken meal bowl with a medium warrior juice (kale, cucumber, pineapple, ginger, lemon, cayenne). Yum!!

The interior of their cafes are also right up my alley- bright white, greys, and neutrals. The design is really outstanding. It’s a great place to meet someone for a healthy lunch, or spend an afternoon working there while sipping on a alive + alert juice.

Back to the juice cleanse. The idea of a juice cleanse has always intrigued me. I’ve heard so many people that use juice cleanses to reboot their body, restore low energy and moods, help with skin issues, bloating and inflammation. All sounds good right? So I thought, let’s give it a try!
T.Loft has the option of a 1 or a 3 day cleanse. I wanted to go all out, so the 3-day cleanse was the decision. Each day of the cleanse consists of 5 juices, 1 protein ball, and a salad. I don’t think I would be able to do a cleanse that didn’t have any food, so I liked the idea of having the protein ball and a salad.
The cleanse starts out with the first juice, and then you drink a juice every 2 hours throughout the day, eating your salad in between your 4th and 5th juice. The protein ball whenever you need an added boost. Another nice thing is you pick up your goods each morning fresh from the café.
So how did it go for me? I set out Monday morning and picked up my juices and salad from T. Loft feeling really excited for how great I was going to feel! I was feeling so optimistic that I didn’t even take pictures of everything on day one, thinking I would just take pictures for this post on day 2 or 3.
My stomach had been rumbling already since I usually eat breakfast pretty early, so I was eager for juice #1. It was delicious! 10:00 AM came around and it was time for juice #2 (equally as delicious). I finished it and was feeling great. I got this!
Around 11:00 AM the smells from the kitchen starting roaming through the office. Stay focused, I kept thinking. Eye on the prize. Also around this time, I started getting a really bad headache. I figured it was just the toxins being released from my body and would go away soon.
Juice #3 and #4 went down great but I started to feel a little light headed and dizzy so I decided it was time for my protein ball. The protein helped, for a little bit, but I just didn’t feel right. It was finally time for my salad! I inhaled it like there was no tomorrow. Unfortunately though, the feeling of light headedness didn’t go away, and I started to get shaky. Disclosure- I have always had lower blood pressure and typically have to eat every 3 hours to keep from feeling dizzy- so why I thought a juice cleanse was a good idea was beyond me, but I still wanted to try it.
Regardless, I decided after my 4PM salad that this cleanse was not a good idea for me. So, what did I do? I drove straight to Chipotle and got a huge burrito bowl with a side of chips and guacamole. I’ve never been so excited to eat food. So instead of pictures of all of my yummy juices (since I didn’t make it long enough to take any), I leave you with this:
In conclusion, will I ever do a juice cleanse again? Definitely not, this girl likes to eat too much. But, will I keep eating at T.Loft? Absolutely!!
Disclosure: T-Loft provided me a complimentary 3-day cleanse in exchange for a review on Lulu’s Favorite Things. All opinions/thoughts are my own though and this in no way ensures a positive review. (Clearly, LOL!)
