Happy Monday! Hope everyone had a great weekend. Last week I showed you our dining room before and after and today is the kitchen! This is probably my favorite renovation we did (our bedroom is a close second, though). Let's get to it!
Our kitchen was a hot mess to begin. Red and blue backsplash (wasn't staying in this Wildcat house), green paint, outdated appliances, and cabinets that needed a really good scrubbing.
I scoured Pinterest for kitchen inspiration ultimately deciding a bright-white kitchen was what I wanted. We originally were planning to keep the white countertops but decided to go ahead and invest in new black granite countertops.
Our first job was tearing down the current backsplash, which was oddly satisfying. After the tear down, we hired Sutherlands to install our granite countertops. They did a really nice job and I highly recommend them if you ever need new countertops! After the countertops were installed, we repainted the walls a bright white and gave the cabinets a really good scrub.
Next was installing and grouting the backsplash (similar here). If we ever renovate another house, we WILL NOT buy bevelled tile. Although I really like how it looks, it was pain in the butt to grout because you have to grout between every. single. crack. and it took forever.
The kitchen is now my favorite room in the house and I really love how it turned out! Worth every hour we spent grouting!
